SWOP SHOP FACILITY is a service taken on by us to sell any unwanted equestrian items you might have in good condition e.g. Outgrown Jackets, Jodhpurs, boots, back protectors, Riding hats, Saddles, Bridles ect. anything that is saleable to the equestrian world. .We then agree a selling price and you get 50% back while the hunt supporters make 50%. In the event that your product is not sold over a certain length of time then it will be returned.
Our next stand will be at Headford gymkhana on Saturday 12th June so if you have any items in the closet we have members in every area to collect. There is great interest in this project we are willing to do the work if you give us the items. We are not accepting torn horse rugs or anything in need of repair or anything you have to feed!!!(NO HORSES THANK YOU)

MIDSUMMERS NIGHT HUNT BALL

This year the hunt supporters are running a midsummer’s night hunt ball. It will be held on the 17th July at the Lisloughrey lodge hotel on the grounds of Ashford Castle in Cong. The venue overlooks the most breathtaking views of Lough Corrib and North Connemarra. This promises to be a spectacular evening’s entertainment in one of the world’s most scenic areas.
The costs of the tickets are €75 each which include Dinner, Wine and A great night’s entertainment. There is a limit, so book early to avoid disappointed. The Lisloughrey Lodge has a special rate for those attending the Ball and again rooms are limited so book in time. There is a special rate of €140 per room B&B for those attending the ball but you have to book on the phone and tell them you are attending the ball. The phone no is 094 9545400
Sinead Vine and Vanessa Hernon are the ladies to contact regarding the Hunt ball tickets and we think this will really be a night you will remember.

NIGHT AT THE DOGS

Last year we ran a very successful night at the greyhound track and this year will be better. Tickets will be distributed the same way through committee members except this year the tickets are €10 instead of €20 each ticket will allow entrance into the dog track and race card plus entry into a sweepstakes draw which gives much better value this year. We are also running a Donkey Derby on the night after the last race on the track. There will be 6 Donkeys and we have secured Professional National Hunt Jockeys who will be racing in Galway that week. Paul Carberry, Robbie Power, Rodger Loughran Barry Geraghty, Davy Condon are already on board, our Huntsman Mark Cassidy has also agreed to saddle up on the night.
This is a first for the greyhound track and the first Donkey Derby in Galway City for 35 years so it will certainly turn heads and cause huge media attention for us so let’s capitalize on it.
Apart from the initial ticket sales we are looking for the following sponsorship
Donkey owner €300 x 6 donkeys
Each owner or syndicate will have the privilege to
1. Name their donkey.
2. Be listed as the official owner on the race card.
3. Be in with a chance to win the North Galway Hunt Donkey Derby Champion 2010 Trophy
4. Be highly regarded as having one of the best ASSES in Galway

Donkey trainer €100 x 6
Each trainer or training yard will have the privilege to
1. Be named as the official trainer on the race card
2. A chance to train the 1st ever winner of a Donkey Derby at Galway Greyhound Track

Jockey sponsor €100 x 6

Each jockey sponsor will have the privilege to
1. Get to meet one of Irelands leading jockeys
2. Be listed as the official sponsor of the jockey
3. Be part of a great nights entertainment

FUN HUNT

The fun Hunt takes place again this year in Ashford Equestrian centre on 26th September. This was a great success last year with 110 horses and ponies taking part. It aims at riders who need to know a bit more about the hunting field and what happens while following a fox around the woods and grounds of Ashford. It’s a perfect day out for riding clubs and happy hackers. It finishes off with a Barbeque at the equestrian centre.

HUNT MERCHANDISE

A new range of North Galway Hunt summer wear will be launched at the Headford Gymkhana this year. Check it out on the day.
